Gunda Stegen nieuwe Technisch Assistant voor Bulikimu KisoBOKa NGO

Met ingang van 1 juli is Gunda Stegen aan het team van Bulikimu KisoBOKa toegevoegd als professioneel adviseur.

Professionele achtergrond: Gunda Stegen haalde een Masters graad in Opvoedkunde en Theologie (Protestants) aan Universiteiten in Duitsland. Daarna haalde ze nog graden in ‘Crisis en Conflict Beheersing . Ze werkte de laatste 10 jaar voor diverse NGO’s in Zuid Sudan en is al enkele jaren in dienst van HORIZONT 3000, een Oostenrijkse Ontwikkelingsorganisatie, die haar ter beschikking stelt aan KisoBOKa. De focus van haar laatste baan was de repatriëring en het verzoeningsproces van mensen die verdreven waren uit hun eigen streek. Ook werkte ze mee aan de opbouw van nieuwe projecten om inkomen te genereren in de streken waar de mensen oorspronkelijk vandaan kwamen en de opbouw van instituten voor onderwijs en opbouw van de gemeenschap.

HORIZONT 3000 en Bulikimu KisoBOKa NGO zijn een partner-overeenkomst aangegaan.

Bulikimu KisoBOKa werd een NGO in 2011 is gevestigd in Jinja/Uganda. De missie van de organisatie is ‘het ondersteunen van talenten die mensen hebben en zo de leefomstandigheden verbeteren in de achterstandswijken in en rond Jinja.

Sinds kort heeft de organisatie een eigen permanent centrum (KisoBOKa Centre) in Makenke, Mafubira Sub County, waar ook haar kantoor gehuisvest is. Het centrum is gebouwd met het doel nieuwe kansen te bieden aan de gemeenschappen in KIMASA (KItovo, Makenke en SAkabusolo) door cursussen aan te bieden als: haarverzorging, analfabetisering, kleermaken, bouwen en computertraining.

Duur van de samenwerkingsovereenkomst: 01/07/2015 – 30/06/2017

Doelstelling van de opdracht die de TA heeft gekregen:

– Versterken van de structuur van de organisatie, de procedures and beleidslijnen,

– Verbreden van de financiële basis voor de activiteiten en

– Verbeteren van de serviceverlening zodat de impact op de deelnemers beter zichtbaar wordt

Verwachte resultaten:        

  • Bulikimu KisoBOKa ontwikkelt een strategisch plan overeenkomstig haar missie en visie,
  • Bulikimu KisoBOKa managet haar projecten op een professionele manier en heeft haar ervaring in project management uitgebreid,
  • Bulikimu KisoBOKa heeft een solide management and project-monitoring systeem,
  • Bulikmu KisoBOKa heeft haar netwerk versterkt en ook haar communicatie met nationale en internationale organisaties,
  • Bulikimu KisoBOKa heeft haar zichtbaarheid en haar communicatie strategie verbeterd door aanwezigheid op internet, in publicaties en documenten

Professional Background: Gunda Stegen holds a Masters degree in Educational Science and Protestant Theology from Universities in Germany; she has a post-graduation degree in Crisis- and Conflict-Intervention and in prior to her assignment with Horizont 3000 been working for the last 10 years in various (I)NGOs in South Sudan. Her focus has been on the repatriation and reconciliation process of displaced people, the resettlement and income generation of South Sudanese in their territory of origin, the reconstruction of educational institution offering functional adult education and rural community development.
Partner Organisation: Bulikimu KisoBOKa was founded as a local non-governmental organisation in 2011 with its site in Jinja/Uganda. The mission of the organisations is to support people’s talents and to improve on the social well-being of shanty communities in Jinja District.
The organisation currently owns a permanent community centre (KisoBOKa Centre) where its offices are found; in Makenke, in Mafubira Sub-county. The centre was constructed with the purpose of empowering the communities of KIMASA (Kitovu, Makenke and Sakabusolo) with vocational life skills like hair dressing, functional adult literacy, tailoring, brick laying and computer training.

Assignment Period: 01/07/2015 – 30/06/2017
Overall Objectives of Assignment:
– To strengthen the organizational structures, its procedures and policies,
– To enlarge financial base for activities and
– To enhance service delivery with greater impact on beneficiaries.

  • Bulikimu KisoBOKa manages projects professionally and has built various expertises in project management,
  • Bulikimu KisoBOKa has well-established knowledge management and project monitoring system,
  • Bulikmu KisoBOKa has strengthened its network and communication with national and international organisations,
  • Bulikimu KisoBOKa has well-established its visibility and communication strategy in the media through web presence, publication and documentation.
